Stihl brushcutter greasing

We bought a stihl 360 brushcutter back in April and the gearbox went toda, phoned to see if its in warranty "yes as long as youve greased it " Problem being on this one and on a 450 we bought there is no way of greasing the gearbox. All the old ones have the bolt you undo and the grease cartridge screws into it - happy days! The new ones have nothing on it

Has anyone else had similar issues

Check the handbook and if there is no reference to greasing the thing then argue the point politely pointing out that you believed it to be a sealed unit due to the lack of a greasing point!

Personally I would have thought the amount of grease used in manufacture would last more than 7 months.....unless the item has seen some heavy use.

Have a word with Gardenkit and see what the service interval is!

As far as I know on the new ones, there is no grease point and they are fitted with sealed bearings.

I would have thought it would be under warranty but would need to see it to be sure. Maybe your dealer is unaware that it has no grease points, I'm sure it's a miss understanding and it will be covered.

There you go, good response, see what your agent says when asked nicely and if you get a less than helpful response then try to be a bit more persuasive and see where it ends up!
