Chogging down a dead cedar today and the pulley came undone :scared1:.

Lucky for us the ropes stayed in place and the section was lowered.

This happened after we had been using the same lowering point for 5 hours so I can only think it worked loose.

Its bent the cheek and as you can see in the picture plus the threads are out of line.

 

I dont fancy trying to straighten it and not sure if I would trust it if a new cheek could be bought so might keep it as a key ring.

How do you think it worked loose. Did the groundy feel it go.

 

Ideas on a post card because I have'nt a clue, these things just happen and thats when an accident happens.

Just unfortunate and as you say luck you found it before it did any harm !

Are the threads damaged at all? When you noticed it was it still set right or had it inverted?

 

Maybe the first quarter turn of the thread is a tad sharper than the rest and the cheek was swinging.
