Hi

Please could anyone in N Staffs or surrounding area that has experience of restoration works (in this case to a small stone bridge) please get in touch. We have some funding for a restoration project but so far are stuggling to find anyone to quote for the job. I would stress references and photos of previous work will be needed. I have included a photo and bit of info below about the job so people can see whats involved

Please PM me with a contact number and we will get in touch

Many Thanks

Charlie

Jeremy Milln (an archaeologist with the National Trust) made the following statement about the bridge:

The bridge is a scarce survivor of a type of construction known as far back as the Bronze Age. Its ‘clapper’ stones are quarried blocks spanning closely spaced shearwaters, entirely, so it seems, of ‘drystone’ construction. It is marvellous as an essay in local vernacular; its stone of the local area, and its creation that of local labour.”
