titan pro 7 ton electric splitter

Hello,

 

Thinking of buying one of these to process my firewood. I have quite high domestic firewood needs but a limited budget.

 

They cost about 260 New.

 

Heard only good things about this splitter, anyone used one or have any advice?

This is the same machine that is marketed under the Mitox brand. Mitox dont do the 7 tonne version of horizontal machine, but I do know that when they tested the machines prior to marketing them, they found that they did not meet the stated tonnage, so they downrated their machine to 5 tonnes.

 

even if the Titan 7 tonne machine produces less than 7 tonnes it will still be enough for domestic use.

 

It will be worth having the quicksplit option which limits the ram return travel, speeding up splitting time (standard on Mitox version)

I got myself the Sealey version of this earlier this year. Slow and steady, does the job. It'll not break any production records, but it's dependable enough for home use. Worth the money IMO

I have the vertical petrol version of this model and have had no problems with it, it grunted a bit on Yew logs but still went through them.
