Request for Aerial Rescue resources

Prompted by another thread regarding refresher training.....

With regards Aerial Rescue all those that have already been certified know the basics but it would be good to have a reference for brushing up on our skills. Unfortunately I have been unable to find any written practical instruction or good videos (UK based) that demonstrate good technique. I think it would be a great resource for Arbtalk users to have access to a video or videos showing demonstrating good technique. Would any of you helmet cam toting climbers be willing to make one for the benefit of Arbtalkers? Does anyone know of any good written resources?

Such resources could be placed in a Health and Safety Section on Arbtalk together with links to other resources (which could be kept up to date by Arbtalkers). What do you think Steve?

Also in a tool box talk format so can be shown to staff as part of refresher/CPD input...

 

Probably be best to be labelled as guidance to best practice...

 

Backed up by (qualified trainers/assessors to add weight to it)

 

Maybe some input from equipment suppliers/manufactures to support a budget and showcase their kit at the same time.....

Great Idea

The AA Guide to Good Climbing Practice has some reference to standard rescues but a filmed rescue would be useful to refresh us all

without sounding rude i would ave thought that there should be no need to refresh on rescue if it is practiced regularly , it should be made aware to every candidate that sits a training course that it is recommended to practice Aerial rescues regularly .

 

That being said i do feel it would be a useful training tool and a great tool to use when organisations run their aerial rescue training/practice days

Agreed - if you practice regularly whist at work, then this will count as keeping your skills up to date. But you should keep a record of what you practice.
