My wife and I are planning to return to Vancouver Island next year. I have relatives in Nanaimo and we last visited in 1999. As well as visiting places on the island such as Victoria, Port Alberni and Tofino we spent a few days in Vancouver - can recommend visits to Grouse Mountain and Capalongo Suspension bridge - and a week near Kelowna on the mainland.

 

What I would say is avoid June - they were calling it Junuary when we were there because it was cold and rained most days and it was the first year the Calgary stampede had to be cancelled - in early July - because of snow!!

 

We are hoping to go in July next year. No matter where you go I can guarantee you will love Canada.
