Top roller excessive play.

I put a new bearing in to the top roller last week thinking that it would solve the excessive play problem in the top roller of my 150 but the roller still has side to side movement, is there something I have missed? There is only one bearing for the top roller, correct? The lower one has two.

 

Do I need a new roller?

Most of the 150's only have one bearing at the non drive end, and there is approximatley 3mm clearance at either end of the roller within the roller box. When the grease tube is fully charged this usually takes up any free play. Try contacting Timberwolfs Technical Helpline on 01449 765820 with your model and serial number they will be able to identify what roller set up was fitted as original to your chipper.
