this was ament to be yesterdays job but when we got to site and we got asked to take down 2 sycamores

started this in the afternoon

i was working for wolfman

thought i would share as i dont normaly get failed limbs to do

She will be fine, give her a tickle on what remains and treat her as a veteran a class she just entered and maybe the longest portion of her life stages.

that is a very great shame, this tree is just begining the most interesting portion of its life, it could now provide substrate for the rare hericiums, like erinaceus in the stem, and maybe cirrhatus on the fallen timber if allowed to remain in situ.

 

It is down to us all to at least try at every oportunity to offer solutions that are in keeping with tree ecology.

as u no people get scared when such a big limb fails in a public place and i assume hse and insurance will be the down fall to this tree

A qualified arboricultural assesor would have to make the final call, HSE and Insurance companies HAVE to use expert opinions too you know
