Whats happened to this Oak tree?

The acorns on this Oak tree have exploded, see attached photos

does anyone know what might have caused this to happen?

My camera has decided to not turn on so i have had to take the pictures with my web cam, so apologies for unclear pictures.

Higher quality pictures will be uploaded when/if my camera starts to work
