Surveyor position

No worries tony, glad to help.

Also, sorry omitted from last message

Ua1+Ua2.1 are prerequisites to UA5 Risk Assessor/Surveyors course. Some DNO's allow you to survey without UA5 as long as your experience and CV tick their boxes.

Your employer would arrange the induction for you, it may be worth getting in touch with a few in your area, if you were willing to put yourself through Ua1+first aid, they may be able to work something out with you from there.

Good luck, all the best and if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to ask, if I can help in any way id more than happy to, also please get in touch if you decide to go for it,

Dave

I think i will be going for it next year, got to stop climbing full time and I couldnt stomach BS5837 surveys, I dont know how them consultants can do these day in day out its their bread and butter!

I will still do "special trees" for my contacts as a freelance but thats it.

this line of work sounds like it would suit me better than most might imagine.

Our contract was with Northern Electric and at the time we were the first arborists to be trained for the installation of the earthing kit, I quite fancy the idea of obtaining the relevant units. The work was enjoyable walking in some fantastic remote places on the North York Moors, some of the managers even managed a helicopter ride or two for high speed surveying!!
