Grafting

Hello everyone,has anyone done much grafting?(trees not work).It's something I been planning to experiment with for years now,did a bit at college but that's a while ago.It's time for me to give it a go,I'm thinking palmatum's for one to try.Is anyone doing/done much?Ornamental trees is my interest at the moment but fruit trees could be good to get into too.I'm also looking for any good books,if anyone can help?all the best R.W.:thumbup1:

This is an excellent book, I would recommend it to ANYONE with any interest in trees. Detailed section on grafting.

Likewise, fruit trees only for me.

 

I find (in agreement with East Malling) that I have a much higher yield with chip budding than with grafting, usually over 90%. The only difficulty is that it's done in late summer/early autumn (just about to start) when things are generally busier than in winter.
