6 tree crane job

Good stuff. Do you mean you were chaining the pieces fairly low, but using slings to stabalise to the brash to stop it flipping over?

 

Yes, worked well, and gave more confidence

 

Do you always do a step cut when lifting with crane as I was told when I did my first crane Job to cut right through and it didn't work too well but was ok

 

I like step cuts, as i think its easier to see the weight shifting, and a good step cut, you have time just to step down below the cut, then order the lift.

 

Also on an Elm i crane felled, i cut straight through on a large step peice, an inch from the end ripped about 6ft up (luckily not down) if it had gond down it'd have messed with my flipline giute a bit!

That's because your crane operator was either drunk or recovering from a recent lobotomy.
