I have an 03 Swb auto commercial, superb in every way. the 3.2 diesel can be rather juicy if driven hard, but will outperform most 4x4 on the road. I also run a Discovery commercial with all the off road goodies fitted and the Shogun will run rings around it in the mud! even on BFG AT tyres. The Uk supplied ones only have a towing weight of 2.7t for the swb, some imported ones have the 3.5t max weight to match the lwb model.Genuine parts can be a tad pricey, aftermarket ones are much cheaper- but it doesnt go wrong so costs should be minimal one last thing the turning circle has got to be seen to be believed, will do a 2 point turn where a Nissan Micra needs 3 shunts!!

thanks J,the turning circle is a surprise, most 4x4's i've had are shocking! towing weight is a bit of a minus but glad they do this model in auto as i'm getting old and lazy :001_smile:

Nice :001_cool:

What I'd meant was a V8 diesel to fit into a landy would have been to heavy or expensive - I've been trying to talk SWMBO into an older amazon or a patrol but she won't get rid of the Jimny. Reckon a big 6 cyl diesel takes some beating - have had the old 3.2 patrol and the 4.0 n/a landcruiser.

Figured I've too many broken landies kicking about and now they aren't worth FA now so I'd build a good one out of what I've got kicking about (plus a few new bits that she doesn't know about! :sneaky2:
