Efco 156 factory carb settings?

I know it's a long-shot, but does anybody know the factory settings for an Efco 156? I picked one up super-cheap, and it runs fine as it is, but I'd like to know for future reference.

I can't find it listed anywhere since it's supposed to have limiters in place but this one doesn't.

At the moment H is about 1 turn, and L is about 3/4.

It runs fine as is, but the previous owner...well, I don't want to be running it too lean.

Seems like a really nice saw.

Any ideas?

I don't know the correct H and L settings, however if you have a tachometer the user manual states that the idle speed is 2800rpm and the max speed at WOT is 13,000rpm plus or minus 500rpm.

Heres the links to the user manual and the parts manual:

Hope this helps!

Hehe - 156 efco; another dark horse no-one here knows about!

It's a nice saw, no doubt, but I think it's probably a little old-skool to rival your beloved Dolmar in terms of being a Stihl/Husky alternative for pro users. New cost seems to be £500-£550, which is pretty rich for something very, very similar to a 254XP...

That said, I love it.

Mine is now 50% Oleo Mac, which I can confirm for future reference is abolutely 100% identical, save the plastic covers which need to be all Oleo or all Efco. Can't combine.

Yeah but you can get em delivered for less than £300 from italy

Really? In that case, I suggest everybody buys one!

I paid about £40 for mine, but it's probably cost me £bazillion in parts to get it running!!

:blushing: :laugh1

If anybody requires any assistance regarding the servicing of this saw, at this point I know it about as well it's legal to know a saw...
