Hi there, i am new to Arbtalk, glad i found a UK forum at last!! I am going to be taking my CS30 and CS31 in March, but was wondering if anyone has an opening in the East Midlands for me to come and do some cutting for them F.O.C. so i can gain some knowledge and experience. I would be willing to travel and bring a saw. Maybe on some private land somewhere so i could gain some experience from time served arborists.

Many thanks, David.

Hi Bob, i am based in Kirkby In Ashfield, in Nottinghamshire. I just want to do some cutting, whether it be cutting firewood or whatever. Can't wait to get my tickets. I work for Mansfield District Council and they only want groundies as the insurance costs are too high for anything else apparently... but i intend on paying for the climbing courses myself, even if they don't utilise them i still want to do them.

Get back to me, many thanks, David.

sorry mate, i think i am a bit far away from you. but you have the right attitude, and sound keen to learn. So many guys just want to swing about trees straight away, then they get a fright and are scared to go back up. Logging up trunks in a yard is how i started with a saw. You soon learn its all about looking after your saw. And keeping your wits about you with kick back. Sorry i cant help you but someone here soon will.
