Thats my brother in that pic, he likes a few more gizmos than me lol. Thing is with no groundy we had to take everything we thought we might need with us. Extra slings for redirects, fig 8 for big descents if needed and cam saver of course. We also took an extra ground line up with us. We climbed up and put our top anchor in with not much gear on (no saw etc.) then hoisted up the heavy kit with the extra line. Saved a bit of effort.

Took 2 of us about 20 days. Problems with poor weather and short days in winter didn't help. Lots of tidying up around base of each tree afterwards. Took it easy and enjoyed the work really :-)

 

Throwline is connected to the metal weight on the end. Bolt slots in and falls out when reaches the top of the tree.

80 odd trees, 20 working days, 2 climbers= 2 per day per climber.

That's got to be day rate!:001_smile:
