Ah, the guy that gave it to me said that it is laburnum... he is an arborist so of course I trusted him completely :001_smile:

 

Yes ithe handle is carved, sanded and oiled.

 

Ah,that might have been me,I think you had some yew & laburnam,but I cant remember,still got some nice lumps of laburnam,& some oak, ash,holly,elm, if you want to rummage through some new piles just up the road mate.:001_smile:

 

That handle looks superb too.:thumbup1:

I am ok for a week or two as I just scored this cherry

Mind you I have not tried elm, what is that like to work?

And I am a huge fan of yew now :-)
