Age is a funny 'old' subjective game isn't it.

 

What's more impressive, a single self metabolising ancient of 5,000 years like the bristlecones in the shots, or the clones off a root system that is in the region of 9,500 years old like the norway spruce found in the fulu mountains in sweden or the aspens in utah that are off one root system (47,000 individual stems) and collectively weighs somewhere in the region of 6,000 tonnes & guestimated to be 80,000 years old?

Back in 1969, I visited the Bristlecone Forest in Cali's White Mtns, and saw Methuselah. It is no longer marked, so visitors have to guess as to its identity these days.

 

There's also the story about Prometheus, and how it, estimated to be even older, was cut down...
