Ok. The reason I favour the lockjack is because you can pull slack out of the top

 

You can pull slack through the top of a sj too, I've not done this with a lj so it may differ in execution, but there's no question it works.

It's very difficult with sj todo so and I found you could only do it when your rope was at the correct angle. The lj is a lot easier to.

where are good places to purchase these?

 

Many dealers Out there. Honey brothers,f.r jones, gusharts etc. arb show is your best bet to get one for a good deal.
