Hi all newbie here ive got a couple of chainsaws a stihl 181 with a 14 inch bar,and now dont laugh a ryobi 50cc thing with an 18 inch bar,got all my ppe an somewhere to carve wondering if my saws whould be suitable.thanks stuart.

The 181 is a great saw for learning to carve with because they arnt too torquee and they work well if you want to fit a carving bar to them. i have one that i use for teaching. i think that now the Ms 192 is no longer available in the uk that the 181 is going to become a very popular carving saw. and as for the other saw i couldnt possibly commenton it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not because im a Stihl snob which i openly admit i am but i have never used one. But if it cuts use it.
