Bit of a piece of string question... I use the cheapish Stihl trousers and some bombproof Stihl boots [quite old now, have like tractor tyre treads on the bottom...] I like the idea of StretchAirs etc but to be honest, they'd get trashed on the ground and I have a habit of sticking my gaffs through them when I'm climbing, so the cheaper the better for me!

The trousers aren't all round protection which keeps them a bit lighter & cooler for climbing. Boots wise you need to find some which fit your feet, they're like any other shoe in that respect... I can't comment on which current ones are any good because I've had the same pair for years and they refuse to die!

I just got some hiflex on friday but had stihl forestry trousers for 2 1/2years which I've kept for ground/forest work .... 1 nip from a silky (my fault obviously), the crotch has been stitched up a few times but not a mark other than that!

Dont listen to Will ! I tried to advise him which trousers to buy and did he listen?

Sorry Will just had to get that in! Hope your Hi-Flex have met your expectations xxx

Hahaha!! I just felt that my bum looked big in the sips that you recommended :001_tt2: Yeh I'm loving them so far, getting my leg over a lot more easily now! .... Not bad for climbing in either :lol:
