my old man flew mozzies and spits, graceful machines - cheers for posting

 

Respect - & powered by the RR Merlin engine with its indistinguishable, utterly beautiful sound of a 27 litre V12.

 

One of our friends father flew spits & was shot down over the North East, he was assisted by the locals but thought they were Norwegian!

Nice one! There were some funny stories. Dad was in Burma - The maddest story i heard was at his wake - apparenty he bailed out over and landed in a large Japanese POW camp - they didnt even know they had him. Some Aussie POWs hid him under the floorboards! He just crawled out at the end of the war.:001_huh:
