Applications for rigging plate??

When would you use a rigging plate? spreading the weight of a branch/chog??

I use the petzl paw when up in the tree (for example) to attach multiple smaller bits to when rigging or speedlining, or as a quick way of balancing branches to come down level etc instead of tying knots like the apline butterly etc. Sometimes a 6 wrap prussic is better to find the balance though as it is adjustable whereas 2 slings and the paw is less adjustable if you see what i mean. Ther are millions of uses though- attaching multiple bits of hardware to the base of a tre in complex rigging ops too if needed etc.
