Alder Coppicing

I agree, Alder is a very fast seasoning hardwood. Needs some sun and a good breeze and will dry in no time. I like to cut it into longer, thinner logs if possible. I coppiced some last year and really pleased with the re-growth so far.

Sorry dunno bout that,but when i was a kid my dad used to get us to bark 12ft alder poles and he used to dry and halve em for fencing rails,they last a good few yrs aswell
