double rope harness?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to expand into tree climbing, and would like to know what difference a double rope harness has over a single, and are the two cross compatible?

I have been asked to supply my own kit for my training but here in france things are vauge to say the least and kit is only available by special order.

Also, is DRT used more than single, or just a preference from each climber?

Any help would be fantastic, and sorry if its been covered here before.

Drt is used mostly but a lot are starting to try out Srt. The harnesses as far as I am aware are the same used for both.

An SRT harness has an attachment point for an over the shoulders harness (I think).
