Advice for young arborist

That attitude will do you fine, unless like me you are a bit too gung-ho to begin. I was a disaster area at the start. Breaking stuff on a regular basis, trying too hard to impress. Luckily my boss at the time saw some potential and only made me pay for some of it.

 

Stay focused on the job, treat your employer's gear as if it was your own, be early, and in every day. Keep your chin up even when you have a thankless job, and its howling wind, and lashing freezing rain (good for everyone's morale). Or trying to finish a job at the end of the day and the chipper clogs up. Get to know the machines inside and out. And don't forget to wear sunscreen :thumbup1:
