before I go scouring the net for some mod that probably isn't sold in the UK...

I think the air filter setup on the 880 is crap - esp when milling - why didn't they put on filters like on the smaller saws?

so, I wanna mod my 880..

anyone got any smart ideas or product knowledge?

ta in advance

What colour back does your current filter have? Sounds like you have the wire mesh one which is now only recommended for use in extreme wintry conditions i.e. falling snow.

You want the HD2 filter, looks like this;

Or do you have the older HD set up with the prefilter?

youre right, i do :D

green back, mesh filter (dont think it's wire) with a pre-filter band around it.. I was thinking of adding the coarse grade sponge but cant see it doing much for the "fines"..

that looks much better, nice snug-fit rubber washer over centre hole, clamped down tight....

Hi,

my 880 came with HD filter and I find it clogs up when milling and is difficult to unblock without breaking.

I've got a 660 I also use for milling and that has the green top wire mesh filter, I have no problem with that so I'm thinking of fitting one of those to my 880.
