Whats the best way to go about getting a grant for woodland creation and SRC? Do I have to just send an application off or will the FC send someone out to discuss options? Im in the midlands if that helps.

Start off with the forestry website Forestry Commission GB and take it from there, no certain knowledge but I think SRC is agricultural rather than forestry.

I find our local FC guys and girls more than helpful - the answer may not always be what you want but at least you will get an answer and in the case of refusal a reason or guidance as to how to change your application.

Agreed I dont think your going to make much head way in chasing grants for SRC, where in the Midlands are you as the grant funding changes at a reasonable local level depending if your in an FC priority area for creation etc,

Should be a link to the FC woodland creation grant page, depends on how you score and what area your in. The plans and application arn't to traumatic to complete and fwp is affected and covered in the handout. It's all fairly self explanitary, and your local FC officer is definatley worth getting in touch with as he / she will help you with it and give a few hints and pointers. As far as I know src isn't covered as, as others have said, thats agricultural.
