The Boxing day "Hoot"

Yesterday was the Boxing day "Hoot", morning hunting - afternoon walked up Woodcock shooting for a bunch of families that shoot/hunt/socialise together locally. We had a brilliant day, all turned out in Tarporley for the hunt (even Sky News was there I am told) and then 7 guns, me (broken jaw = 3 months of shooting) and all the non shooters turned up for shooting and a field lunch. 13 woodcock and 1 pheasant, not much of a bag but wouldn't trade it for the best devon day. 1 young lad and one distinctly old lad both got their first woodcock though no right/lefts this year.

Fine company, fine sport, fine drink - what more could you ask for?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year folks!
