Hi Jon merry xmass to you . The iPad 2 is excellent it's one of the best gadgets I have every brought .make sure y get the modle with wfi and 3G so then you can always get Internet I get my Internet from O2 that's a tenner a month . You will need to go to an O2 store and pick up the little sim they provide for the iPad .

 

I paid out right for mine as added up the cost of a contract and it was masses more . The prices for iPad are set by apple so the shops cannot put the price down I found this out when I was doing my price comparison some shops offer extra bits to go with it .
