Oak only firewood?

I don't know how oak is on that side of the big pond but you don't have mix a thing with it to burn on this side . Split ,stack and let it dry about two years and it's good to go .

 

Heavy ,dense,splits good coals up good not much ash . About only three types are better ,hickory ,osage orange and locust but I have no idea if these species even grow eastward 2500 miles or so across the Atlantic .

Iron oak is staghead deadwood it is as hard as iron seasoned by the wind hard as iron for the saw but it splits like butter.:001_smile:

 

Probably the best firewood possible in my opinion. Recon it must be worth near twice as much as any other firewood, but if i ever get chance of it on a job it wouldnt go for sale, it would be on my own special heap:sneaky2:
