Just in, pick up voicemails on home 'phone, start 'phoning back etc.

 

Mrs S: "Oh, yes I was calling to ask how much you pay for trees?"

 

Me: "Do you mean how much we pay for bought in timber for firewood?"

 

Mrs S: "Sorry no, I mean how much do you pay us to cut our trees?"

 

At which point I probably audibly sniggered!

 

Me: "It's the other way round I'm afraid; we charge for a professional tree surgery and forestry service"

 

Mrs S: "Oh ok then, how much would it be to cut down 3 trees?"

 

Me: "Well, Bob the Builder will probably do it for £100 but we would need to come and have a look and make a quotation on many variables such as... blah blah blah..."

 

Mrs S: "Ok thank you, I may call you in future."

ive had the one the man cut down my trees and said if i give you a call you would come and buy all the timber of me including the small branches

I've had a woman ask for a quote on the phone to cut down her tree. I told her between £150 & £15K.

She then described it as a small conifer in the back garden next to the conservatory and told me she thought it should cost about £20 including waste disposal.

Priceless!

I told her it costs £90 just to get in my truck and turn the key.
