Hi,

A very basic question, whats the signs and symptoms of my 150 blades requiring a sharpen? Ive heard long stringy chippings, chunks etc?

Also after how many hours should they be sharpened?

Thanks Gents

Regards

Larry.

Hi Larry

The test for blades is very simple, ask your self the following question :-

Can your blades sharpen a pencil ??

If the answer is yes - then blades are sharp enough

If the answer is No - then you need to resharpen

The length of time between sharpens depends on usage of machine but if you apply the above simple test you will keep the machine working in an efficient and safe manner.

If you chip with blunt blades you increase the torque in your machine which in turn reduces component and machine life.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi Larry

Glad to be of assistance.

When you have sharpened your blades do not forget to check the blade gap.

The gap should be 2.5 to 3mm

Check the fixed anvil to ensure the edge is flat and square.

If all is in order we wish you many happy chipping hoiurs
