Thinking about buying a portec ultra chain sharpener

I was asking as I have one and it just stopped working, my machine had very little use and saw about two and a half years old, but after speaking with portek they said send it back. Today I received a working machine back with a new wheel and my old wheel in the box. It was out of warranty and they had no obligation to help, but hats off to you portek. Great chain grinder and fantastic service. Thank you.

i found it will not sharpen pico chains. but themn maybe its not made to do them. so i am a plonker for trying. but for bigger chains makes a good job. just do it light so as other posts does not blue the teeth. but have a son in law who now sharpens all my saws for me. and they all cut a dream and done by hand. so its in shed redundent.

Its for .325 and 3/8 chain. Great grinder for sorting out damaged chains and keeping it balanced between file touch ups. I have found the edge lasts longer than a file sharpen , maybe due to a little heat. Not blueing!
