Hi all im just wondering does anyone know where i could get else, sweet chestnut, oak or western red cedar to make shingles with?

Im in Berkshire so anywhere here or in the surrounding counties would be ideal.

got some western red cedar mate,,and its in reading,,,:thumbup1:

out of interest, how thick do you cut them? are they tapered (if so from what to what?) and how do you estimate the amount of timber you need, by cubic meters per 1000 or tons?
