I want to study to become a tree surgeon with a distant learning course but don't know which one a VHT090 cert in arb or a RFS level 2 cert in arb they are very different in price so i would think one is better!! I wanted to then get some practical courses done but which ones some institutes are telling me to to 7 and they cost so much, please help. Yogi

Hey

Not sure how useful 'distance learning' arboriculture will be :confused1: but I guess the RFS are very well recognised.

As for cost, I did a full-time course (being 2.5 days a week), national certificate in Arb last year. It costs between £4-500, unless you qualify for fee exemption somehow and for that you get a good basic understanding of the job and 4 or 5 CS tickets. You should be able to do the course and still have enough time during the week to get some work experience too.

Just one way, but I don't know all your circumstances.

Good luck! :001_smile:
