Reversed cap on top

[Fungus]

A nice example of the phenomenon of a reversed cap on top of another cap of Laccaria amethystina, I found yesterday.

It only happens when the FB/cap coming from the primordium of the upper (stipeless) FB is attached to and lifted up by the lower FB while "stretching" from its own primordium connecting the upside down cap with the originally shared mycelium through the cells of the cap of the lower FB and making development of the also fertile spores producing small cap possible.
