Does this help Fungus.

I took these pics on the North Downs on an area we cleared for reinstating natural chalk grassland.

No, because this is an orchid and the other one is a leafless parasitic broomrape.

I was relating this to Ben's picture are they not the same

Yes, they both are (the same) orchids, but your first pictures are of an Orobanche species.
