That article could be quite misleading, its quoted source of statistics is one insurer which insures some of the rural world but not all of it.

 

The only real news here is that the NFU have paid out more than last year which geven the increased gost of kit is at least partly to be expected.

 

How these stats reflects on countryside crime as whole will depend on the demographics of the NFU’s policy claimants.

 

Still it made a good filler on a Monday which is traditionally a slow news day and a good bit of free publicity for the NFU
