tw roller refusal

occasionally the rollers on our tw150 will stop rolling (accompanied with a worrying gnnaaargh noise).

the flywheel keeps spinning and rollers will resume normal use if you press either the outfeed or infeed button on the flappy paddle box to get things going again.

 

doesnt seem to have any corelation to the size of material and the normal stress control works fine

 

sometimes you have to press it many times to get things going continually but will take material in one roller turn at a time

 

paddle button problem or hydraulic?

 

any ideas greatly appreciated

I get this now & then if the blades are dulling off,I think the timber gets a chamfer on it & gets battered by the blades rather than cut.

I had the same kind of thing with my Entec, turned out to be the saftey bar wiring had a bad join, rewired it and all good again, hope this helps

thanks for the input guys

the blades are changed regularly - and it seems to happen even when a fresh set is on - unless its an anvil wear problem perhaps?

will check out the wiring as a possible too

had a similar problem on my entec, tuned out to be that one of the roller blades bolts had worked loose (two per blade) and that blade section was flaping up and hitting the front of the anvil stopping the bottom roller from tuning, so may be worth checking your blade bolts!
