We took this Armillaria infected chestnut down to a monolith 3/4 years ago.

Joggers used to run behind it.

For some reason they've decided to start running under the lean of the mono so we have now reduced the tree down to Herr Matthecks suggested height for urban standing deadwood. :001_rolleyes:

Looks fungal/slime mouldy"

From the ground i was told of droplets and thought I dryadeus, but the droplets are large and clear (maybe just actual water due to recent rains? Has none of the characteristics /bumpiness/features of I dryadeus, but maybe the fb is very young?

"How high off the ground?"

8m or so, on the first scaffold; I. d. has a rep as a buttrotter but have seen it inside cracks on Carya illlinoinensis at similar height.

here's a q laurifolia with foamy conk. i was told there are guttation drops

I think Davids made a good calll but for me on a close up this appears Hydnoid, toothy, suspect this to be Hericium erinaceus once harvested and regrown.

Auranti is lippy rather than blobby, for technical terms!

Just my pennies worth, nice find Guy
