HONEY

look for smooth bark areas (evidence here)

smooth bark indicating replacment after a colonisation

How smooth? Like a babies bum?:001_rolleyes:

I´ve seen honey kill off one branch earlier in other trees but the rest of the tree has always shown some dieback or sparse foliage. Have u seen this in Willow? Whats the tellsign (except the bootlaces...) mycelium under the bark of the dead branch?

Ive only just started observing partials by honey, so its a new to me thing too.

I would think/expect that now the branch is gone soon youll see iether bootlaces (which arent always present) but more likely a black plating around the wound and wood affected.

The bark would be new bark as apposed to older bark like the rest of the tree, but also be aware this can be confused with bark delaminations where tension exists on the backs of stems.
