Hi all!

im after a bit of advice im buying my own personal rope for use with a hitch climber & knut and want to know if this is ok? New England Tachyon (Orange) Rope - Eye Spliced

I've used yale poison ivy with a hitch climber before and really liked it but was told the tachyon was a better option

in work i climb on yale xtc fire but i use prussic loops as that is what everyone else uses so its just easier and quicker untill i get better with the hitch climber.

All opinions welcome good and bad if anyone uses either ropes what are the pros and cons of both ropes?

Thanks in advance

Hey,

i was running the same set up... xtc with a couple of loops a little while back. i started using a VT hitchclimber set up with Ocean polyester friction cord on it and it was really nice.. self tends well and its still a big rope and easier on the hands.

also have a 60 meter yale imori VT set up with armor prus friction cord on but needs abit of tweaking to get it to self tend better armor prus is grippy and imori is very light ... the Imori is like no other, its still very shiney but for a 11.7 smaller rope it is nice to your hands! no tourble with fatigue so far the only down side is i can't see it lasting that long! it is too soft!
