If anyone is interested, the castle/estate I work on some of the time is having its first of its open days for the year next week

It's Castle Leod, which is on the outskirts of Strathpeffer

Castle Leod - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://www.scotlandmag.com/magazine/issue39/12008687.html

It's open Weds 25th to Sun 29th, 2pm-5.30pm

Adults £7, kids £4, concessions £6, with money going to the clan Mackenzie charitable trust

The castle itself is very picturesque and has a lot of history, but the main interest for me is the grounds which have some amazing specimen trees.

There's the spanish chestnut, first recorded planted tree in the country (1550), and a pair of massive wellingtonias, one of which is the biggest in the country.

Worth a visit :thumbup1:
