Tomorrows job

This went over last night. The people in the house next to it were very lucky. It landed square on top of their garage, also hitting the roof of the bedroom but only the corner.

This is only half of the horse chestnut that was diagnosed with ganoderma last autumn, the other half is still standing.........just.

Ooh, nasty. Have you got any pics of the point of failure?

I'll get some pics tomorrow, suspect I won't be the only one either. Insurance companies may well be sniffing around too.

It's in the Hoddesdon/Broxbourne end of the Lea valley but strangely the tree isn't their property. That strip of land entering the park is privately owned.

Good shot by mother nature there. Missed the fence but only took out the gate. When i down west (dorset) next i shall hopefully get some pics of a tree that failed 2 days ago. Was a twin stem Sweet Chessie that has split both directions. Going to leave it alone as tree is safe and rootplate(s) are still attached.
