Hamadryads Journey into ecology and conservation

Writing a book definitely focuses ones mind, facts must be sought, information gathered and latest thinking researched, part of my journey is learning about ecology, conservation and survey methods.

I thought i would start a little thread to put in all the useful knowledge and links I find that may help others on a similar quest as this kind of digging can take a long time and is often hard to grind out and learn about.

of course much of this may be common knowledge to those studying at collage, but my route has always been that of a self taught nature, so forgive me if some of this comes across as basic info!

Ive just bought my phase 1 survey handbook and am enjoying the read ( thought it would be dull!) now Im grinding out info on phase 2 and 3, seeking the vegatation classification index (anyone got a link for purchase?)

ive also just bought a realy nice book on bats call bats by phil richardson and a bat survey good practice giude from the bat conservation trust, lots to read and i have to say, ecology and conservation is definatley "my bag" it seems

really looking forward to the future this path holds for me:001_cool:

Heres a nice link i found today while digging

Hama have a look on the JNCC website. It has a plethora of information just waiting for a sponge to soak it all up. Rodwell wrote the NVC classification volumes and any decent library has a good copy or two. I will have a look in my college notes and get back to you on any good references. Happy reading :thumbup1:
