Mechanic says cost of stripping rebuilding etc isn't as viable as a new/recon engine as its fairly knackered anyway. So its fate is sealed :)

That is exactly what they told me about my gx670 on my stump grinder, burning oil. So I did it myself, cost me 100 eur for parts and now it runs like a new one.

The mechanics these days don't fix anything, they just changes things with new ones...I am fed up with it...so i do it myself.

Don't hesitate to open up that engine, it is really very basic and simple. I could do it with my eyes closed :001_huh::thumbup1:
