At the moment it's difficult to get a clear picture of what the end product will be like as they are currently making amendments for the CE marking hence the delay. We've heard previous versions have been subject to wear issues but until the next version is with us I'm afraid I can't tell u whether parts will be replaceable or how it will hold up against abrasion.

 

We'll keep u posted when we know anymore.

On the unicender are the 4 blocks that the rope runs over replaceable? Or do you have to buy a whole new unit. Because I was reading somewhere about them only lasting 18 months?

 

Yes, they are replacable. The wear time depends on how you climb. Doubled rope technique will put hardly any wear on the plates. Single rope more so. Check out tree buzz for more info on this. Climbing single rope my first set of plates are still perfect after 8 months.

It's a great tool, one that I heartily recommend.
