I would say that they need to look at their tip speeds/gearing, it looks like that blade is turning far to fast! That is more than likely why it cuts so slowly, either that or the blade is really really blunt. If the blade is spinning to fast then there is every chance that the blade could break in quite spectacular style. I certainly would not want to be that close to it, which is saying something if you have seen the video of my saw bench.

 

The sliding holder is superb though and i will shamelessly be nicking the design!! :-)

that video was taken a little while ago, next time i see it running if its the same i could mention what you said, unless it is infact quite blunt. and yes, the sliding majiga is clever.
