Evening all just got a job come in to replace some large planks on some benches. Went to I local saw mill just wondering weather the price is fair. The size is. 2.5 meter long 40 cm wide and 6 cm deep with one. I was quoted 50 plus vat I need 6 planks I was thinking for that money I could buy a mini mill and make my own :) what you lot think ? Oh and the wood was douglas fur many thanls for reading

thats appox £22 cube for df in my mind thats expensive

I agree with stu...ought to be more like half that, or maybe two thirds at most. I have been knocking out sawn larch and douglas for approximately £10-12/ cube, I know another mill was doing it the same, and another local mill for around £16 plus VAT until recently...
